Time to meet the Gwynne family
It is a real privilege to testify that our small family were all saved as children; Gareth at the age of eleven, Lindsay at the age of seven and most recently James only three.
God began to challenge us about full time service for Him, with Child Evangelism Fellowship®. In God's TIME we headed of to Kilchzimmer, the Leadership Training Institute® in Switzerland, and took the course during summer 2006.
When we returned home we began our year of practical training in the North East Down Area. We had many wonderful opportunities to put into practice all we learned at the institute plus gain many new skills. It was a blesséd TIME.
Our Bethel was confirmed to us as we considered the work to be done in County Armagh. This proposal of moving County and Home brought fear and worry but God overruled again through His word.
"Consider your ways. . . Fear not . . . I am with you, saith the LORD."
Haggai Ch 1 vs 7-13
Fear has given way to faith as we continue to labour for the Lord among the Children of County Armagh.
Take TIME to read our prayer letter and pray for the Children.
Praise...
• Praise God for a good reception from Mr Woods, the principal of the Hardy Primary School. We conducted our first assembly in front of their 200 key stage 2 children and have now been allocated dates until the end of the school term.
• We praise the Lord, at this early stage of the year, we have already received a number of requests from camp leaders, old and new, to come to junior camp in the summer. We praise God for their willingness and faithfulness.
• Praise the Lord for Hilda Pentland who is still working hard with the children on the correspondence courses. We are so thankful for her and all her service to the Lord, both practical and financial, as she maintains this ministry single-handedly.
• We praise God for all the Good News Club teachers and helpers who give up their time to teach the children of Co.Armagh. A number of clubs has fallen in numbers after Christmas – but pray with us for stability or growth.
Prayer...
• Pray for the launch of a new Senior Youth Challenge, for over 16 year olds, commencing in Lurgan at the end of January. Pray for Andrew McNabb (the new SYC Rep.) that he may have wisdom, a good core group of young people and unity as they meet together to study the scriptures and pray together.
• The Co.Armagh Junior Youth Challenge weekend is coming up on 17th -19th February for teenagers from 11-15 years old (Booking forms are available for download at www.cefarmagh.com). Pray for Colin Hylands as he leads and teaches; the team of volunteers and the teens that plan to attend that the Lord will challenge and encourage.
• Pray for the Lurgan Baptist Missionary Convention from Thursday 9th – Sunday 12th February and the CEF representation. Pray that we can strike up meaningful conversations and obtain useful contacts for future ministry with both young and old alike.
• Continue to pray for the area finances which are struggling. Our Heavenly Father “Owns the Cattle on 1,000 hills and the wealth in every mine” and collectively we need to ask Him to meet the area needs.
Focus On The Clubs...
This month the Good News Club® focus is ST.SAVIOURS, DOLLINGSTOWN. This club meets together every MONDAY at 6:30pm. Pray for the team of 4 leaders RUTH, DAVID, JOY and GORDON along with their 2 Junior helpers ANDREW and DANIEL and the 14 regular attendees.
WE PRAISE GOD FOR a good response when invitations were distributed at the local primary school and Sunday school. Praise God for the children's good behaviour, that they listen well to God's word, and that although they used to go to the toilet a lot during the meeting, this doesn't happen now nearly as much.
OUR PRAYER IS that is that Christian children would grow and mature in their faith, and that non-Christian children would become Christians. We pray that more children would come along, especially boys, as there is currently only 1 boy coming regularly. We also pray for a new leader as 1 leader is unable to attend every week due to family commitments, and another leader is only helping out until a replacement is found.
