No Going Back

My name is Mabel and I was brought up in a house where I heard the Gospel and attended Sunday School and Children's Meetings. I knew from an early age that I needed to be saved, so as a child I trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as my Saviour, but like many others in teenage years I was lured away by worldly company. It is vitally important to read God's Word and pray every day and to always make Christians your company. It is very sad to see those who once walked well with the Lord, go back to the 'broken cisterns' of the world, which they must know will never satisfy.

I was very much aware of God's hand upon me during the time that I was away from Him, and through different circumstances, He drew me back to Himself. The Lord drew me back and I have gone on since then with Him. My longing and desire is to please Him and live for His glory.

I think that those who are believers and have experienced God's love, mercy and grace, should be rejoicing and should be excited about this wonderful salvation. We should be "shouting it from the housetops." Jesus said to the seventy, whom He sent forth. When they returned with joy, saying, "Lord, even the demons are subject unto us through Thy Name." He said unto them "rejoice not that the spirits are subject unto you, but rather rejoice, because your names are written in Heaven."

The Lord brought Jeff and I together and we were married. We met in Mountpottinger Baptist Church. We both had the desire to live for God and to glorify Him.

The Lord took my husband home on 9th April 2006. I just could not put into words how much I miss him. The grief and sense of loss is overwhelming, but I trust in the Lord for His grace each day and I look forward to the time when Jesus Christ will either come or call and I too, shall be for ever with Christ which is indeed far better.
